[dangoma] COVID-19 : Japan / USA (2020.04.26)

1. "Tip of Japan's Khorona Confirmed Iceberg...10 times the actual infected."

Experts say there will be 10 times as many infected people in Japan as there will be a lack of a new coronavirus infection test (COVID-19).

According to the Nihon Keizai Shimbun on the 26th, Hiroshi Nishiura, a professor at Hokkaido University, who participates in the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare's COVID-9 cluster task force, said, "The current number of confirmed infections is the tip of Japan's COVID-19," adding, "The actual number is more than 10 times higher."

Regarding the fact that the number of confirmed cases tends to remain unchanged in some regions after analyzing the situation by provincial government, he pointed out that "the actual number of infected people exceeds the upper limit that can be examined in a day."

Nishiura stressed that some people appear to have been unexamined because the symptoms are light or mild, and that the inspection posture needs to be expanded to check the actual infection situation.

Prime Minister Abe said he would expand the capacity to test the gene amplification (PCR) to 20,000 cases a day, but the daily average of the PCR tests from the 1st to 23rd of this month is only 6,800 cases.

Earlier, Yasuharu Tokuda, head of the Center for Clinical Research in Okinawa, also told the Mainichi Shimbun on Sunday that there is a possibility that there may be 12 times as many infections as are currently announced.

2. The number of coronas 19 worldwide has surpassed 1 million...Over 50,000 people died.

More than 1 million patients have contracted the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

Johns Hopkins University in the U.S. put the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 at 1002,159 at 3:24 p.m. on the 2nd (Eastern Time).

A little earlier, AFP also reported that 10,36 Corona19 patients were reported in 188 countries around the world based on their own tally. It also counted the death toll at 51,718.

AFP's tally is a self-collected figure by AFP, using data from the World Health Organization and official data by country.

As a result, about three months after the first case of COVID-19 in China was reported in late December last year, COVID-19 infected 1 million of the world's population.

In particular, the number of patients has doubled to more than 1 million in a week since the number of patients exceeded 500,000 on the 26th of last month.

It took only a day for the number of patients to reach 900,000.

Considering that there are patients with COVID-19 symptoms or those without statistics, the actual number of infections is expected to be higher.

According to statistics from Johns Hopkins University, the U.S. was tallied at 234,462 people, making it the country with the highest number of Corona 19 patients, while Italy (115,242 people) and Spain (110,238 people) also exceeded 100,000.
